Lynn R. Olman Honored with Collaborative Leadership Award
The Health Improvement Collaborative of Greater Cincinnati has named Lynn R. Olman, former president of the Greater Cincinnati Health Council and presently a consultant for Spencer Stuart, as a recipient of the Collaborative’s highest honor – the Collaborative Leadership Award.
The award, which is not presented every year, is given to an individual who has provided extraordinary leadership to the Collaborative, embraced the collaborative process and promoted the Collaborative as a model for other organizations. Olman received the award at the Collaborative’s fourth annual Celebration of Collaborative Leadership dinner on Thursday, November 2 at the Hyatt Regency Cincinnati downtown.
Until August, Olman served as president of the Greater Cincinnati Health Council, a position she had held since 1983. As president of the Health Council, it was almost 15 years ago when, in the wake of a formal study commissioned by Cincinnati’s largest employers to compare hospital outcomes, Olman had the foresight to put the data to work for the community’s benefit. Her plan incorporated the unique concept of bringing competitors to the table as collaborators, and using the data as a benchmark to determine priorities for community health improvement. This project evolved into the separate organization that the Collaborative is today.
Olman volunteered her time to the Collaborative as its executive director, a role she held until earlier this year.
Olman is a resident of Cincinnati’s Hyde Park.
